Sorry about not catching this before the release. We have a fix and are trying to get this out as soon as we can. Hopefully in the next 4-6 weeks.

Remember folks, you're paying for this monthly
After reading it would be 4-6 weeks before they fixed this, I talked to their customer support about canceling my membership. This is critical functionality for me so not having it kinda sucks.
They offered me two months free, which I'm cool with. Especially after reading that you can copy/paste SVG into a text editor. I wasn't aware of that.
Worth noting that you can still copy, and paste from AI to your code editor of choice. (which I'd do anyway to modify / clean up the SVG code)
I can't remember the last time I actually exported an SVG from AI since I always just copy and paste into Atom.
Good to know!
Oh how I wish this would work in Sketch. I've also wanted it to work in reverse too: copy svg code and paste into Sketch,
Did Adobe break an already broken thing?
Illustrator and SVG export have been nothing but a pain in the neck for me. I'm not a huge fan of Sketch, but at least SVG export works as expected. I get different results every time from an AI file exported to SVG in Illustrator. Either too small, viewport moves...
It's made me angry for years, now.
The viewport moving bug has pissed me off for years as well.
Yeah we are paying for this monthly to get new versions / new features more frequently... And what do we get with this update : nothing except that Adobe broke a feature that I use on most of my projects. Thanks Adobe ! By the way it's not a bug that's hard to reproduce so if the code for this feature were tested Adobe would have spotted it before releasing...
A dot release for Illustrator CC 2015 was posted this morning that fixes the Export Artboards to SVG issue. Full release notes here: https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/kb/illustrator-cc-2015-crash-bug-fixes-19-0-1.html. The update is available from within the Creative Cloud desktop application. Note: If you don't see an "Update" button yet, logging out and back in to the CC app will force a refresh.
If you copy whatever you'd like out of Illustrator and then go to your Terminal app and type
pbpaste > yourFileName.svg
You will have a nicely exported SVG!
It's not a bug, it's a feature.
