    The only thing I kind of disagree with in regards to his advice is the notion that you should run a test for at least a month.

    You should test as long as you need to in order to reach the point where the data is relevant. Depending on volume, this could happen very quickly... maybe even just a week. Especially if you have a true control/default you're testing against.

    I would argue you should only run a test as long as you need to in order to have confidence that the new test is a winner over the control or not. Then, keep testing.

    At certain traffic/volume levels... even the silliest incremental changes you can do can sometimes really have a year-end impact on $$$.
