almost 5 years ago from , Product Designer & Maker

Hey guys,

I've been working on this side project for fun and to revisit my rusty coding skills. Everything works, though it's still experimental and not polished at all, but would love to get some early feedback:

https://invoice.to

Here is a sample invoice I prepared, if you wanted to check out:

https://invoice.to/ZMgJyk47Uq

It should display well on every device, but if you come across to anything broken, would love to know.

Thanks!

I will delete if this is too off-topic/hijacky, but do you use stripe for invoice payments frequently?

After a certain threshold, I feel like I'm throwing away money for a tiny bit of convenience. E.g., I don't like the idea of losing $60 on a $2k invoice, but for recurring monthly retainers of a few hundred dollars I don't mind so much.

Am I in the minority here?

      Nope, same here.

Definitely valid point Zach. It very much depends on the case I guess. In my experience, easier I make, better results I get. Especially for new clients and time sensitive projects.

I ran into this as well - it's why I switched to Intuit Payment Network for larger payments, as I think they only charged like $0.50 no matter the size of the transaction.

Didn't know about IPN Kyle, thanks for heads up. How was your experience with them? Are they easy to integrate? How's is end UX?

I found them SUPER easy to use - from the "customer" side, I believe they can use credit card, checking account transfer, all that good stuff. Then on my side, I don't have to do anything - as soon as they pay, it transfers right into my account (and a lot faster than other services - I think I was seeing it within 2 business days). Never had any complaints from clients or anything like that with signing up and getting set up, seemed all around pretty painless.

I see. I checked, but couldn't see if they offer APIs, connection etc.. I'll dig in further. Could definitely be a good alternative, if also works on mobile.

Awesome, I will have to check this out. $0.50 per charge sounds wonderful. Also, small world, I'm in your area and have a friend who worked for you guys for awhile actually. He teaches at GA now.

    Great idea, Ugur!

One nit-picky item: When I focus in a given textfield, the placeholder text feels like it should either: - Go away when I begin typing - Select all of the text that is currently in the field so I can either choose to overwrite it or append to it.

looks pertty cool, do you have a logo for this? would love to add it to https://helpmebuild.io

Also it might be a good idea not to index the invoices on google. A meta noindex tag should do the trick : https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/93710?hl=en
