Sketch is really great for quick layout work, but extremely inadequate as a serious/professional grade vector editor. Would like to see improvements in future versions, but not keeping my hopes up. Anyway, thank you Peter for the great tutorial.
Hi Erik, I'm gathering a list of the features that would make Sketch a better vector path editor. Curious what some of your ideal features and bug fixes would be to add to the list. :)
There are quite a few actually. I will try and come up with a detailed list and send it to you.
Great article and really well presented. I’ll need to look more into the Scissors Tool.
As an aside Headline made me wary it was going to be another article complaining about general Sketch bugs (which it totally isn’t), and when I linked it to a friend that was their initial impression from the medium URL too.
Interesting observation, Brett. I always appreciate the feedback, especially as titles can be hard to come up with and I generally just go with my initial idea. I'm not much of a public complainer... I prefer to contact the developers :)
Congrats on getting this up! Always cool to see your deep-dives into the stuff that confuses everyone in Sketch.
The GIFs look clear now too ;)
Great article, as always Peter.
When I paste drawings in from Illustrator it automatically connects all open paths. Does anyone know if there's a way to turn that off?
It's such a pain to go back through and open them up, or use the scissors.
Maybe this should be a new thread, or email to Bohemian Coding, but I'll just put this here for now.
Oh wait, this one still looks messed up :O
Darn Medium, messing with my GIFs!
