Not quite sure what it is. Signed in > Get a slack invite. Send files, get paid?

      Hi Ryan,

We decided to use a public Slack group as the main way for Domino members to communicate.

Re: "Send Files, Get Paid" we had originally built an integrated file transfer/invoicing/payment system to simplify the process of managing your cashflow as a freelancer. Our thought process and experience being "Pricing, payments and cashflow is a huge area of misunderstanding for many freelancers and causes a lot of problems".

Our focus with the tool was to empower freelancers, but we realised that providing direct education and community driven guidance ("I made this mistake when I started, here's how you avoid it") would help empower freelancers more effectively and across the entire span of their business, not just around money, so we decided to shift our focus towards community and education.

I think you'd have more success with a more descriptive landing page. The information you have in there really doesn't tell me anything at all about what Domino is…?

Thank you for the feedback, Sacha. I agree we need to more explicitly state what we're trying to do.

To be more specific, we've noticed (and experienced) that there's a lot of uncertainty around freelancing and "being a freelancer". A lot of mistakes are made that cost freelancers time and money and lead to a lot of stress and anxiety. We believe the best way to help freelancers is through community-led education and support which is what Domino is working to provide.

But you keep describing the "why", not the "what".

"Community-led education and support" could be any number of things. I think what you need to communicate is what the day-to-day usage of Domino looks like, practically speaking.

Is it a wiki? A forum? A chatroom? A knowledge base? A blog?

You're absolutely right. It IS important to explain the "what" and I'll get onto that now. Right now we're only using Slack to communicate and have begun to share advice from our members on our blog (http://blog.senddomino.com).

We're also writing a guide covering the major aspects of freelancing that'll be hosted on a wiki.
