Looks great, might sound silly, however does it work? Previous purchases I've made that controls my Philips hue never connected. What is the setup process like?
LIFX please? Will buy in one second.
Definitely looking into it!
Hi all, Aaron here! Feel free to let me know here if you have any issues or comments about Chroma.
Hey man, I appreciate the convenience of Chroma a ton - but I am super frustrated by the UX. The big thing is that I want to be able to control the light colours with more ease, but colour is buried in a submenu of an overlay view, which adds up to a lot if you're trying to change the colours of a bunch of lights individually. Also, it's yet another click to set the colour.
More colour comments:
- I had no idea there were any other preset colours other than Pure, Focus, Relax, Grit, and Moss, because the overlay view's table view cuts off exactly at the end of the 'Woodland: Moss' cell, and there is no affordance that'd encourage me to realize that I can scroll. I literally just discovered that I could scroll 15 seconds ago and I've been using this app for months!
- Can I save my own colours? Because I currently don't believe i can? and it'd be super helpful.
- Can I use the same lights to make them into different groups? I'd love to have all the lights in 'Kitchen lights' also in 'Living Room lights' for instance.
Hope this is helpful - I really love hue, I really love the aesthetics of your app, but damn is the colour stuff frustrating to me!
edit: also easier brightness control would be appreciated, it's probably the thing I spend the second most amount of time doing.
I definitely built it around how I use it (meaning I rarely ever change colors and brightness-- daily I only switch them on and off unless I'm feeling festive). I get that that's probably counterintuitive to what Hue actually is though ;).
As for your questions: - I can understand that. - You can't save your own colors now, the SDK recently added Scene support so that'll come soon. - You can use the same lights into different groups.
Thanks for the feedback!
