Very nice layout and typography but I feel like the animations are forced. Subtle hints of animation would have sufficed. IMO.
I think it's bad when the animation is only used for animation. Every time seeing something like this I want to ask: Ok, you know how to animate all this, but are you really selling transition skills at first?
Are we really back to embracing intro animations, splash pages and load screens? I was hoping this stuff died with Flash.
I think there's a little too much motion for motion's sake - for example the super fast images coming up from the bottom on load/scroll. I also find the image slide on hover unnecessary and distracting from the text I should be reading.
It's beautiful. But the scripts got caught in my ad blocker. Site won't display without JS at all - just shows a blue dot.
There's no reason this site couldn't be rendered without JS as a static page (obviously without the interactivity...)
Looks great on a big display. I agree with the comments about animation to some extent. They do add some life, but they're also a bit chaotic.
Written copy needs a lot of work, but I liked the visual feel overall. Congratulations on the launch.
I like it quite a lot. And I like even more what they do. The Villa Feltrinelli website is amazing.
The page transitions strike me as very obnoxious.
it is great！
Love the intro animation.
