Show branding work in a UX portfolio presentation?

over 8 years ago from , keirabui.com

I have to do a portfolio presentation for a UX internship interview. I'm presenting 3 pieces of my work and I'm wondering if one of them can be purely visual design? Or should I just show only UX-related work?

If you have any tips for a UX portfolio presentation, feel free to share!

A lot of my UX work have UI element in it, having said that I don't think it would be a bad thing to show visual design work. I would prioritize the UX work over visual but if you feel that it is a strong piece then go for it!

    Hope that helps, good luck.

I think if you have some visual work that points to a better user experience in those 3 projects it would be great to highlight them during the walkthrough. If not, then show off some of the visual designs at the end (time permitting) or include a portfolio link with a few examples of some of the best visual work so that people can follow up if they are interested in those skills for the job at hand.

Not sure where to begin, but look at your work and from a UX point of view what problems your users faced and how you come up with solutions with your designs. This is only the beginning. I'm sure other UX guys here can chip in more.
