    Ah, thought this was an April Fool's joke. I like how the author took quantified research about scrolling rates and glossed over it because he doesn't like large images when the trend he writes about performed the best.

    Can we stop hating on tools, patterns and whatnot? It's a god damn arrow. Everyone in the world knows what it means.

    You can't say the arrow is bad design and then suggest a "subtle animation". How in the heck is a "subtle animation" better than an arrow?

    I for one don't get paid to make original designs. I get paid to make designs that work. Sometimes, that includes an arrow. My point here is not that everything should be boring and simple. Sometimes though, it just works.

    An arrow is just a tool to use when you want to make something clear.
