Does anybody know what application they used to prototype that? It sounds like the GV website suggests Keynote as a potential tool, but this looks like it was an iOS App (with a real icon). It might have been XCode storyboarding, looks/feels pretty fluid and native.
To prototype what? I don't think we included a prototype in this post.
It sounds like you might be referring to the mobile app prototypes we often create. We typically use Keynote or Sketch to generate the screens, then wire them up in Flinto.
Flinto generates a web app you can save to home screen, complete with custom icon. It's great.
My bad, I was looking at the post with the Gimlet media prototype and this link in different tabs (was coincidentally listening to the podcast at the time) :P
Thanks for info. Will check out Flinto.
For the Gimlet prototype, I tried using a few off the shelf tools, but nothing worked. Framer.js was the closest, but I ran into some showstopper bugs with Sketch import and playing audio in "full screen" mode on iOS.
So I just built a quick stand-alone HTML page that did the job. It basically just swapped between a few images with transitions, and played sounds at the right time.
Ah... that makes sense. I was looking at Flinto (pretty cool! ) but didn't see any of the audio options.
I was trying to figure out how the html aspect of it worked (the fullscreen app/icon part of it) to try to do something similar.
