I understood about 5 words in that article. Anything past HTML and CSS is so intimidating to me...

    ...BUT LIFETRAMP LOOKS COOL!

At first, I misread the title and understood like "I don't want to go back to web" and was preparing some counterarguments :)

I'm very hopeful about the near future of web development (1~5 years) too but feel like web will lose its popularity in the following couple of years.

[I] feel like web will lose it's popularity in the following couple of years.

What do you mean by that?

Sorry for the typo, I corrected it:)

Web will lose (and is already losing) its popularity against Mobile. Although new technologies like web components, es6 features will give a momentum to web, it will decrease anyway.

The reason is people want an app to be easy to access and have smooth performance. It's not easy to reach to high performance on mobile web and this is the part where current Web loses. It'll be trendy for desktops but it won't stand much on mobile. When we think of mobile /desktop ratio which is greater than 1.0 already, mobile matters much.

Also, I suggest you to watch this video
