This might be old news, but it's new to me so I thought I would share. Just discovered that selecting and copying an icon, or shape, or path of some sort from Illustrator CC will output SVG code in your code editor. In my case, Sublime 2.
Nice trick. Also, you should minify your svgs, because illustrator/Sketch will add extra unnecessary info to the svg file.

Very nice. I also want to add one trick. If you enable gzip compression and convert into svgz file, you will reduce the overall file size by more than 50 percent. If you use SVGO (link above) you can simply use the following command
svgo test.svg -o - | gzip -cfq9 > test.svgz
Great find! This saves a few steps for me. Thanks!
What are the browsers that support this?
This should help: http://caniuse.com/#feat=svg-html5
Cool! Much thanks! :)
Wowzers, great tip dude! Had no idea it could be done like that.

http://www.strongmenmuscle.com/can-addium-increase-brain-power/ B. Medicaid Medicaid is health insurance that helps people who cannot afford medical care pay for some or all of their medical bills. Medicaid is available based on income, and applies only to low income individuals and families who fit into the eligibility group recognized by Federal and State law. Medicaid is administered on a state-by-state basis. Medicaid pays money directly to the health care providers.
Damn, didn't know about that. Thanks for sharing this!
That's great! thanks for sharing!
Really helpful! Thanks!
Holy shit this is amazingly useful.
Brilliant - I didn't know that. Thanks!
So much easier then exporting svg...
Yes, it can come in really handy! Paste into Photoshop and get a choice of smart object / shape / pixels, paste elsewhere and get the SVG code.
An other trick is to just drag and drop the SVG file into sublime. It outputs clean minified SVG code.
