A nice little OS X Dock trick...

over 5 years ago from , UI Designer [Moderator]

Just stumbled across this and thought I'd share...

If you hold Ctrl+Shift when you're hovering over the dock in OS X, it'll magnify the icons.

I'm assuming this will only work if you have magnification turned off.

It simply stops the magnification when you hover over the dock holding the key with magnification enabled ;)

That's a wonderful trick! I thought I knew them all. Now I'll make my dock even smaller.

Also holding Shift when you're clicking on any dock icons will do a slo-mo effect on window transition

This actually goes for every (native) animation within OSX. Try Mission Control, Launchpad, unlocking 1Password, etc.

Looks to be temporary toggle for the magnification setting. If magnification is on, it turns it off, vice versa.
