Using cursing in your content.
So edgy you guys.
fortunately, their work speaks much louder than their copy.
Why is showing their personality a bad thing? I've noticed a trend lately in judging designers/websites poorly when they choose to use swear words in their copy. Who cares?
I don't mind expressive personalities and I also like their work a lot, but describing your work as "good shit" seems a bit tasteless. There are so many other words they could have used.
Fair, but subjective! I don't see it as tasteless at all.
Never new the industry was so full of prudes. People swear.
I'm way more likely to read it if there's some attitude.
Otherwise it sounds like the rest of the, "I design functional interfaces and beautiful websites and I'm changing the world blah blah" bullshit out there.
Don't you think the line "We only make good shit!" is a little cheesy?
Honestly a shame that this site only has 13 points. It's more of a work of art than it is a website.
I like swearing. Sue me.
I think it's honest. Sure, "forcing" swear words into your content just because some other designers do so isn't what I'm talking about. That's dishonest. If you swear, show some of your personality in your content. If you think that your clientele will be affected negatively, then don't. Your call, it's your brand.
I'm currently reading "The Martian" by Andy Weir and there's (pardon my swearing) a fucking shitload of cuss words. It makes the book feel more personal, I feel like Mark (the main character) is telling ME his story, as if we were talking in person. I love it and think it adds quite a bit to the book. I understand "business copy" is an entirely different context, but my opinion stands.
I always find it so intriguing when people call the stuff they make "shit".
"This project is the shit"
"This project is shit"
Shit is a flexible word.
I like the Transition/Loader from Projects to a single Projectpage. Nice work! :)
How do they do that?
CSS masking :)
Wow someone forgot to link these guys the "the best animations are invisible" article ;)
I don't care about the cursing, the rough edges around the translations are a little bit hard to digest.
It's a little 'he card read good'
Cursing of not, these guys took home Site Of The Year at the Awwwards Conference in Barcelona! Good job guys!
Nice project pages and work overall. My only concern is with the ink/water page transition occasionally took longer than expected to load so I had to double click on a link because nothing triggered. No indication of an instant page load can make things feel broken.
Wow, truly amazing! Your site is really great and really shows your talent and how cool you are. Both of world's <3
A big big round of applause for you guys, I really love people making cool stuff around the world!
Beautiful site... oh, also http://wemakeawesomesh.it
I love this site! Great personality and storytelling. Awesome
