This article resonates with me a lot. There are so many good reasons to write more no matter who you are. Also totally agree with you about the advantage of writing over podcasting or video blogging. I think I'll go take a look at all the unfinished journal entries I have laying around and maybe try and finish one. :-)
Thanks man, I'm glad you found it useful. I love podcasts but I think they're usually at their best when people collaborate on them, writing seems like the best format for personal reflection to me. Good luck with the journal!
This process often opens up further lines of enquiry and allow me to speak confidently about those ideas later.
This is very true. I started writing occasionally toward the end of last year, after spending a long time convincing myself not too for arbitrary reasons.
Writing is a freeing process, I don't find myself constrained or under any pressure to hit a goal. I can throw thoughts out quickly or slowly. The web is a big place at the end of the day and there is space for everybody.
Writing has been a great learning process, the process of writing has contributed to me building confidence and strength in other day-to-day tasks.

I can't get why people so fear writing. I am writer and I complete thesis writers for people. But sometimes I even don't write like for order I explain that with the help of some knowledge you can write everything, you should only learn basics. But we have exceptions and in such cases I make up my mind and just perform a job.
Thanks for this. I'm currently developing my portfolio and have always felt that I should keep a journal where I talk about projects I work on and things that interest me. Still, there's the voice in my head saying that it's unnecessary and that I don't really have anything to say since I'm a junior.
Nice one, good to hear from you, Will.
I actually redesigned my site in order for it to be more of a blog focus, wrote one blog post -- then chickened out and reverted my site to the old style. So yeah, this resonates.
