ASK DN: Freelancers, how do you communicate with your clients?

over 4 years ago from , Front-end developer

What's the best tool communication tool for freelancers besides email and Skype? Especially when you're constantly dealing with more than one stakeholder on the client side.

Combination of tools which range from phone, email, skype, google hangouts, trello, invision, and more.

Really it depends on your client. Give them the reigns on how they prefer to communicate and adapt. I've found best success with letting this happen.

In Person, Email, Phone, Skype and InvisionApp for the creative process. I use Paypal and Harvest to collect payments and write invoices. I have used UXPin once so far, it worked great and I plan on using it more often.

I've actually started setting up Slack teams for each client, especially if there is more than one stakeholder involved.

It's been pretty great so far, in combination with a shared dropbox folder.
