Nice list! Looks like I'll be in front of the TV during this holiday break.

Thanks! I made it, so I'll add it to the list. :)

Would love to hear any other recommendations you might have as well.

Whoa, nice job! Thanks for the quick reply.

I haven't watched it myself, but everyone recommends Jiro Dreams of Sushi as a classic look into craft and the pursuit of perfection. And though it isn't a documentary, I always think of Pixar's Ratatouille as one of the best stories ever told about passion, creativity, and artistry.

I loved Jiro Dreams of Sushi myself, but felt that it might fall out of the scope of the documentaries here. But now that you mentioned it, maybe not! It definitely does a great job at showing sushi as an art form. I'll probably add it to the list.

    Awesome site!

I wanted to do something similar with the domain designmovi.es, but I never really made anything with it. Let me know if you want the domain :)

Haha! That's a pretty cool domain name too. I don't think I'd have any use for designmovi.es, but thanks for the offer!

Many of the films you list are also available through VHX, which let's you watch it DRM free, through an iOS app, roku or web streaming and pays out more to the filmmakers. It'd be great to add that to the listings, which is typically based on their home site: http://buy.beautyisembarrassing.com/http://www.signpaintersfilm.com/http://thefakecase.com/

Awesome idea and execution. Great recommendations as well. Cutie and the Boxer was fun :)

Thanks! That's one of my favorites! If you like that, watch Herb & Dorothy next. It's also about a cute elderly couple in the art world, and has a beautiful story.
