And feel free to use your touch screen for interaction with your new display.
I wonder if you'll be able to use the iPad to draw directly into Illustrator using a stylus. This could be fun!

No way am I dropping £6 on this until I can try it out. The developer should offer it for free with some restriction (like it shuts off after an hour or something) and then use an IAP for the full version.

It's a little buggy here and there (artefacts and some lag), but hopefully that'll improve over time.
Edit: MacRumors video review.

And that lag is one of my concerns. Tested some the past, and they all were laggy.
Too bad, even more because of that is one of the top features they advertise.

One would hope, considering that's their whole pitch for the App. :/

Load of hooey, doesn't work on iOS 5.1.1 (ie IPad 1). Blech, probably better once it gets updated but currently it's a waste of money unless you're running the most to date software on the most up to date hardware.

Did you seriously expect this to work on an iPad 1 on iOS 5?
Daniel Ypsilanti, 6 years ago
Yes, they said on their website it would support iOS 5.1.1 (aka iPad 1)

Really hoping it will improve later. It kind off sucks and is unusable on my iPad Mini Retina en MBP 13". I guess I made my decision on buying too fast..

I just tested it with photoshop cc ina retina display and i was able to use the brush tool on it withou any issues!

It works! Finally a way to present mobile mockups created in keynote directly on the device...

price increase for having a lot of PR?
went from 8.99 EURO to 14.99 EURO - without notice or feature update.
hm.
Stephen Thomas, 6 years ago Well, the app is obviously working for some folks, but in my case it's junk. 13" MBA 2012 OS X 10.10.1 connecting with iPad Mini Retina or iPhone 5s (both iOS 8.1.2) using genuine Apple Lightning cable and direction connection (i.e. no USB hub). Most of the time the iOS app never gets beyond the "Connect to Mac" stage, even though the screen flashes on the Mac indicating new display hardware is available. Sometimes the iOS app gets to the "Launching Duet…" and hangs. Rarely, the iOS app actually becomes a display; however, when that happens my mouse is frozen (in a "stuttering" sort of way). Waste of good money for me.
Benjamin Zanatta, 6 years ago (edited 6 years ago ) The first time I spent 9€ on an app without hesitations. I've tested with an iPad Air and a 2013 Mac Mini and it was quite good. Not so efficient but I think that will be improve.

There is noticeable lag (MPR 13" + iPad mini 1st gen), but it is definitely better than any other similar solution I've tested before.

Not working for me, I can't move the cursor on that screen :(
Not connected with lightning but the website was pretty plain in saying it worked with all iOS devices.
Daniel Fosco, 6 years ago (edited 6 years ago )
It's probably lightning only. They either:
- Screwed up big time in communicating otherwise (this is probably it)
- Kind of let it happen in bad faith (doubt it... hopefully)
- Are sacrificing goats and conducting acts of Sorcery in their office -- no other way for it to work smoothly on my iPad 2
Edit: From their AppStore description
Devices supported: All iPhones with iOS 5.1.1 and later All iPads with iOS 5.1.1 and later All Macs with 10.9 (Mavericks) and later
Guess I'll be spending $9.99 to see for myself... poor goats.

Working pretty fast with normal resolution. But in retina is very slow. Hope they improve it with time.
Dan Lebo, 6 years ago
Anyone else having issues getting retina to work?
Adam T., 6 years ago
Works really well, much better than the 5 minutes I tried Air Display for... Touch doesn't work and it makes my computer run fans at max speed... But I'm guessing that'll be ironed out. Really impressed for $10 to have a third screen.
