Huh. Only works in Chrome at the moment. The above pops up if you try and use inbox.google.com
in the latest safari/firefox/etc on OSX.
It's very temporary.
Being a small outfit with limited resources and under a lot of pressure to release this, I can see why Google made the call to support Chrome first. Maybe a Works Best in Chrome badge would help.
This looks super promising to me, as it combines a lot of the features I've wanted in mail for a while now (which seemed to have been spaced out between various apps and clients). Should be interesting to check out once I can get my hands on it.
Also, the way that they're having people sign up to get in is interesting - forcing an actual email vs a button that you can just click. Wonder if they're hoping for some fun messages or something.
Really nice work @jean-marc. We tried to do some similar stuff with Minbox in the early days. Excited to try it!

First of all, I don't have any invites.. sorry.
I did get an invite though. First impressions:
Really slick, love the material design, will probably be my new default mail app, the web app is just like mobile.
I got an invite as well but it looks like we won't be able to invite people until Friday.

Edit: Got it, thanks.
I just got a few invites. Google has been sending out large batches so if you've requested one already from them you should get it soon. If you can' t wait, I'm running a giveaway for them.
Still giving out invites? tom.bakker92@gmail.com
am I too late? gabriel@frag.com.br
Doesn't work for Google Apps accounts :(
I have a few invites left! Just drop your email here and I'll go through the list.
I'd love an invite if anyone has one? (rick.butterfield@gmail.com)
“I can't believe that Google would just shut down Inbox like that.”

edit: nevermind. Just read somewhere else that this doesn't work for Google Apps accounts. Just like a lot of the Google Now cards.

I would also love an invite! sebas1a90@gmail.com

Interested to see what have you ex-Sparrow-ers built and how the material design works on iOS.
Can anyone send me an invite to philip (at) snupps (dot) com ?
Good job Google!
Anyone have an invite? I would be appreciated if anyone can send me one. Thank you :) frq2000@gmail.com
If anyone has an invite left. Please do send one at ylchaithanya[a t]gmail.com
If anyone has an invite left, I'd greatly appreciate it.
Hope i'm not too late, I would love an invite to:) christoffer.hallkvist@gmail.com
I'd love an invitation too! Anyone still have some spare? jcarrasco@hugeinc.com
I'd love to get an invite, if anyone has a spare one. Thanks! maciej.warchal@gmail.com
If you have any spares, would love one ndejardine@gmail.com
Love the video. The App evidently helps me spin a basketball on my finder, ignore my child, run on the beach, skateboard and play the drums.
Pure innovation!
I like new stuff! Send me an invite, if you have a spare :) timjhelberg@gmail.com
This looks nice. Does the full breadth of material design get shown off here?
If there are any more invites floating around I'd love to get one!
Why are people so excited by email? It's not hard folks.
Any chance I could get an invite Jean-Marc? mkhern@gmail.com
Would appreciate an invite if anybody is on a mission. Thanks -- quibtran@gmail.com
+1 for Material Design. Really great work unifying the products. If anyone has an extra invite, I would love to check it out... andrew@andrewconn.com
If anyone have a spare invite, please share with me: "saneef@gmail.com".
Is there a plan for desktop app?
I got it
Would love to get and invite from some kind soul. :) guischmitt@gmail.com
Would love to get an invite :)
Edit: Thank you!
I think this will be interesting... Google Now meets Mailbox meets Wunderlist meets Gmail tabs.
That video though... feels a bit out of place. Your typical Trendy Cool Kids™ are more likely to use SMS/Snapchat/FB Messenger/whatever to communicate. Not email, which definitely has a "business" stigma. Maybe this is what they're trying to challenge though.
Would love an invite too if anyone has a spare
Awesome, thank you kind stranger
You are welcome
Woohoo! Thanks Jean-Marc. You're awesome!
If you stopped to see this, please send me an invite see it and un-stop yourself. Edit: Thanks for the invite Jean! :D
Amazing
Got one thanks!
EDIT: Got one. Wow, Material is really beautiful – also a great cohesive experience on iOS vs browser. Now, make it shine on Safari/Yosemite! :)
Interesting how the way you get an invite is by sending them an email. I bet they segment invite requests based on the mail client people use and send invites to Mailbox users first.
I'd love an invite. Working on a lot of Material Design related items right now and it would be nice to see this iteration.
Would also an invitation please! ^reda3d@gmail.com Thanks :)
Wow this looks fantastic—amazing work by Google! Thrilled to try it out.
Hope to nab an invite soon.
If any has an invite to share I 'd love one! patrickjohnson9@gmail.com
Oh boy I would love an invite if anyone has spares! Thanks guys!
Wow. Looks awesome. I’m not really using Gmail, but I might have to now.
Anyone have an invite? Would love to try.
This looks really great, and I'm super excited to see material design in-action on this. Just curious, what separates Google's Inbox from Dropbox's Mailbox? While watching the video, I saw a snooze feature that looks very similar to Mailbox; I'm also curious to know how that works, too?
This makes me feel like its "putting lipstick on a pig" (adding a few bells & whistles to antiquated email technology).
...but i'd still take an invite. ha.
This is well outside the domain of mere IMAP. There is technology beyond traditional email presented here.
I'd love an invite as well if anyone has one. austinlouden@gmail.com
Edit: Got one! Thanks Jean-Marc
Great work Jean-Marc and everyone else involved!
Would also really love an invite if anyone's got one handy.
flynnduism@gmail.com (got one! thanks)
Hi, do you have an invite to spare?
.
Nah... Nice try though.

try again (at least for me worked 2nd time :) )
Thanks. but I'm over it already.
See you on it in a few months!
Had the same issue but the third time did the trick. Might want to rethink that creative signup idea there, Google.
Why not just call this Gmail? Why create a separate product called Inbox?
I'd guess that they want to try and break away from the pure concept of email. This can be an inbox for more than just email in the long term. This will represent your one source of incoming email, notifications, etc.
This.
I wouldn't be surprised if it starts to take in email from multiple clients (think Exchange, iCloud, etc.), bring in social feeds that it is allowed to bring in, give you the opportunity to edit Google Docs documents right inside of it, etc.
Who knows, but there are a lot of opportunities here.
Currently, Inbox isn't as feature-rich as gmail, so I would guess that having both will keep people happy. There would be a big uproar if the power users lost their filter/folder/sorting abilities.
Because the entire world is not ready to have their standard email client taken from them. Just the same that Facebook didn't launch Paper as the new facebook app. There's less risk of failure this way.
I certainly wouldn't turn down an invite.
I would love to try it out! Do you guys have an invite?
dont forget to share your invite once you get one :D sharing is caring (namboodirippad@gmail.com)
