or you could just pick up a pair of $1 gloves and cut out fingers.

  Yes. I've been doing this for years. Go to the hardware store and get white cotton brickwork gloves. They look just like these. Cut off the thumb, first and middle fingers and they're perfect. They're washable, and if you lose or throw them away you're only out a dollar or two.
