Visual changes between iTunes 11 and 12

7 years ago from

For the 12 of us that still use iTunes instead of a service, here's a gif of the subtle but significant changes between the itunes 11, 12 beta 1 and 12 beta 2.

Other than the lack of the font weight, and the icon (gahh), I like it.

Random changes I noticed. - ellispses replacing arrows - Zoomed in covers as backgrounds - Removal of view options

They still haven't solved the horrible mode intensive interface. Switch between library and itunes store, changes how the search field behaves. Also your mouse has to go from left to right and back all the time.

I'm glad they killed the faded-artwork-thing and show the full cover with a subtle shadow. I still don't understand how they could do such thing.

Don't know why Apple is so overcautious with going flat in OS X. Do they fear Mac users will faint with a flat title bar?

I'm guessing Apple believes multiple window management is better with drop shadows when not in single window mode.

I feel like the spacing between various elements is off in several places in the latest beta. ):

I use iTunes as well, and this kinda bums me out. I hope they keep improving upon the design. As a whole, it's okay.

Agree about the spacing. I wish they brought back more sorting options and headers as well.

I still think they should put the section icons right at the top, and rethink where the playing status area goes.

I just noticed a new "Mini mini." Pretty cool but I prefer menu apps like muzzy
