Show DN: Hover-Over Google Analytics

over 5 years ago from , Product Designer @RoyalIcing, formerly @InfinityList

Here’s a new tool I created for viewing your site’s Google Analytics. It displays a panel within your website, showing you an overview of your audience’s analytics for that particular page. You can then hover over a link, and the stats for that page will load up in a few seconds.

It shows a graph of monthly visitors, top sources, time on page, new vs returning visitors, plus a quick overview of today’s traffic.

You can install for Chrome as an extension at: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/hoverlytics/odalaeincdemnbhkanpjkfckbgbhnile/

For other browsers there is a bookmarklet here: http://www.burntcaramel.com/hoverlytics/bookmarklet/

If you want to be involved in the beta, just sign up here: http://www.burntcaramel.com/hoverlytics/

It is currently designed for traditional computers, as they support hovering with a mouse. Any feedback or questions, please let me know!

It uses Google’s JavaScript API, so you install the extension or launch the bookmarklet, and then click a button inside the panel to authenticate it with Google. All the communication is between your browser and Google, there’s nothing server side (I can’t see your analytics).

Looks useful! Here's a thought for step 3, would it be possible to add a little instant search to the widget? We have so many profiles it takes a while to find the correct profile in the small window. I'll pass it on to our Analyst as well.
