Weird... almost an exact duplicate of this thing:

It's more like EO is a duplicate of this. Framed* started first and looks to have a much richer experience.

That's what I thought at first too, but they've both got their own target audience.

E01 is more dedicated for static artwork and similar to conventional digital picture frames. It's designed for always-on use with high contrast, anti-glare coating, and super low power consumption. However, it's not really made for graphics intensive pieces (video, rendering).

Framed is more like a TV with a mini computer in the back. Higher power consumption and a more standard IPS display and glass. But with more computing power for interactive and procedural pieces. It has motion detectors, gesture recognition, a camera, mic and speakers and a full HMTL5 browser, so there's more possibilities (a code-savvy designer's dream).

P.S. I chose a Framed and back that one.

Cool, thanks for the info. I wasn't sure which one came first -- I just happened to encounter both of these on the same day... and was startled to discover that they were, in fact, different projects.

I had the idea to do something similar a couple of months ago, unfortunately I don't have the funds or free time to start something like it.

    Part of the idea:

glass projection film that covered an entire wall + kinetik to give 3D-like behaviour based on movement in the room + configurable notifications (time, weather, news, bus) + this: http://www.jacopocolo.com/hexclock/

I know how everything should work together...

Oh, lottery, why you no like me..
