This guy is brilliant. He tells a story, communicates his personality, shows how smart he is, and offers the option to either scan his work quickly or dig deeply into his process.
Julien Perriere's portfolio is really really great.
It's nicely done from a visual standpoint, but that scroll-jacking on the top two screens and the slow load times are frustrating.
Didn't even know that word existed, thanks! I actually programmed that site, will definitely be working to speed up the loading times.
Haha it's a useful word. To elaborate, what's frustrating is that anything more than an incredibly gentle scroll makes you makes you shoot right past the second section. Hope that's helpful.
Definitely something that can be played around with and very helpful. Thanks!
Site sucks, impossible to see the second fold.
doesn't mean it immediately sucks.
I think the absolute inability to see the 2nd fold of a website makes it pretty awful myself.
Is this using a trackpad? Nothing that can't be fixed, wouldn't necessarily make it "suck"
Magic mouse.
It sucks until it works.
I'll test it with any device I can. No problems with scroll wheel or anything else I use so far. Thanks for the input.
The cat. Enough said. http://andrevv.com/
That's really cool; however, my focus is more on the cat than the actual content on the site. It's very distracting.
Definitely agreed.
Haha, I guess I just like cats a bit too much. He even says in the end "I know the cat is fun, but you should have a look at my work! "
"But in the end, the client didn’t like it. I have no idea, why."
Why would someone write that on their portfolio?
I came across this one yesterday and really liked it. Shows his personality and skills, and the colours and illustrations look great.

80% of those have the exact same style.
Not a bad thing. Being minimal allows the portfolio content to speak for itself.
Being minimal doesnt mean being the same.
That's called being lazy.
Dan Eden's is great. Intimidating... but great
