Ask DN: are you running iOS8?

7 years ago from , Designer & Developer

Lots of you are running Yosemite (https://news.layervault.com/stories/27780-ask-dn-are-you-using-yosemite), but are any of you running iOS8?

If so, have you had any problems? I keep getting tons of crashes on iOS8 beta 2. Sharing between apps constantly crashes the app being shared to. The UI in general seems really laggy and non-responsive. Beta 1 had crashes in it, but actually seemed more stable for me than Beta 2.

fwiw, I'm running it on an iPhone 5c.

I have beta 3 running on my development phone (5c).

It's much better than beta 2 (i.e. in beta 2, the phone will refuse to charge unless after a hard restart). Beta 3 also feels much more responsive.

In all honest, there aren't that many new things in iOS 8. I think you better off wait.

I'd say give it a try around beta 4 or 5. Just not now on a work phone.

I have tried beta 1 and beta 2. Yes there is lots of crashes. After that i downgraded to 7.1 because that was my primary phone. finally it is beta that what it is meant to be. :)

You are right. I use beta 1 and beta 2. They both have a lot of problems. I get used to app crashes, I dont even angry about them at all :) Yesterday I update to Beta3. I hope this would be more stable.

Is Beta 3 stable enough for a daily driver? Any popular apps that crashes? WhatsApp? Snapchat? etc.

      Thanks!

WhatsApp is always crashing since I updated to iOS8. Snapchat and other apps works fine for me.

There are some problems in my iPhone 5. I need to hard restart my device at least once in a day.
