Most of these are terrible.
Haha, I was going to say the same thing
It's hip to criticize.
Truth is hip.
I liked most of them. I would have to scrutinise closer to argue whether or not they would work in reality, but at first glance I think most of them look way better than their real-world equivalents.
Little boxes on the hillside.
Thanks to Google, I now know what this means.
Started watching this (after a googles) flicking over the post as the music played. Quite possibly the best thing to happen this morning.
Why do they all look the same? This is awful.
These are beautiful...
However, they all fail to take into consideration the real restraints in designing for each platform and/or brand. I can give an educated guess that YouTube would see a very dramatic decrease in clicks on related videos with that layout design. The Tumblr redesign works great with photos, but fails to take into consideration the seven other post types (not to mention a vast range of photo qualities). IMDB looks great for popular movies and shows, but the site also indexes many indie shows/films as well as older ones that don't have such high quality media.
We all know this though, DN isn't Dribbble (thankfully).
