    Unsurprising, but also unsatisfying. Simply leaning on the size of the catalog isn't enough anymore. After nearly four years, Rdio has become severely integrated into my life. And it's because they care as much—or more—about the experience with the service than the breadth of the catalog (which has always been plenty expansive).

      Yeah, over time, as distribution channels mature, breadth of catalogue becomes ubiquitous.

      Amazon doesn't have the same grip on digital catalog as they do on physical products, and they're lagging behind — with Kindle being the exception.

    EDIT Sorry for the double post - I did not see the other one on Amazon prime and did not get a duplicate link notification when I create this. :)

    I'm not canceling my Spotify subscription just yet, but this looks really promising (since I already have a prime account). Interesting (but not surprising) that this coincides with a substantial increase in the cost of a prime membership.

    I pay the Spotify Student Price and have Amazon Prime. My first impression is that I won't be switching. Spotify's UI is perfect. Browsing for music on Prime Music is much more like shopping for music that is free. The interface looks just like the Amazon store interface. Its really weird. Adding music to your account is like buying an album for free. It just goes to your cloud music account. That said the selection is great and I can see how "buying" the music would be nice.

    Long story, short: Interface is strange, but service looks promising.
