I'm looking to organize my fonts as they are quickly getting out of control. Curious to see the apps that other people are using. Compatible with Mac please.
I use Fonts by Bohemian Code.
I tried using it but it never stays open long enough (crashes after about 5-15 seconds on startup) for me to see how it works. Any alternatives?
How many fonts do you really need?
As many as you can name, remember and identify?
FontExplorer X Pro http://www.fontexplorerx.com/
I've wanted to try Fonts by Bohemian Coding, but read a lot of reviews about it being buggy and slow. I've been using FontExplorer for a few years now, and it's been fantastic for me.
I've been using FontExplorer X Pro too. I'm curious to try other programs, but it's not worth the hassle of changing. Font problems are the worst.
I use Suitcase Fusion 5. Multiple licenses. Integration with CC, Typekit, and Google Fonts. And more!
"Fonts" by Bohemian Coding (Sketch) looks really nice.
Oh neat! I wasn't aware that Bohemian Coding had released a new fonts app after Fontcase.
Yep, the website is down since they updated Sketch. Can't find a URL for this. http://www.bohemiancoding.com/fonts/
TypeDNA. Works on both my Windows and Mac computers. Activate and deactivate fonts on the fly without having to restart the application. Comes with 2 licenses.
Fonts only views fonts, I still have to add fonts to sets trough OS X's native Fontbook.
But Fonts has the smoothest UI. When I create and edit the sets in Fontbook I just use Fonts for viewing.
Fonts is much faster and more stable than Fontbook.
Fonts looks great but adds no major value. I found it to be very unstable for something that was basically just previewing fonts I'd already organised. I really wanted it to be good.
Let's hope that they pick up the project and introduce some new features. Sketch wasn't as great as it is now from version 1 too if you think about it :)
