Completely removes the need to open Photoshop to measure pixels.
I've assigned the shortcut to ctrl + cmd + shift + 2, effectively making it as fast as taking a region screenshot with OSX.
This is a really cool tool and has a pretty intuitive HUD style UI. I've been playing with different ways of presenting UI that isn't a standard window or menu bar app (apps like DragonDrop and Unclutter come to mind) for presenting different views and this is pretty neat.
Another good tool for screen measuring (it takes a different approach than Pixel Winch and isn't necessarily meant for marking things up) that I use multiple times a day is SnapRuler
This is brilliant, no more hacked up red line docs!
It keeps on crashing for me...
Excellent! Thank you Mr. Adams. I'd come dance with you, but you're not my type ; )
I've been using xScope for awhile to do all of these things and more. http://xscopeapp.com/ - That's def also worth checking out!
This is very slick. Be great to see the addition of some note-making tool to really kill the need to use Photoshop for these tiny markups.
I've needed this for a while. Great work!
Awesome. Would be even better if the grapple tool could mesure in both directions, instead of having to click on the vertical/horizontal switch.
Just hold alt to switch to horizontal. (there are keyboard shortcuts listed at the bottom of the page) http://www.ricciadams.com/projects/pixel-winch#keyboard-table-1
How could I miss that. Thanks!
very nice. only played with it for a few minutes, but i can already see this will help with my everyday workflow.
I've been using Markman to do the measure job.
Hate .air apps, but it's useful.
