So turns out in the past few months, I've installed about a hundred different fonts on my machine thinking I liked them, but now it has become almost impossible to know which one to use when. Is there an efficient way to mange my fonts on my Mac (primarily for PS, Illustrator and Word)?
I'm using Windows 7 and I haven't found a decent way to manage fonts yet.
Anyone know of a windows-friendly solution for font management?
I'm on Win so using http://www.xiles.net/nexusfont/ :)
Fontcase is pretty neat. What i love about it, is that you can enable or disable fonts as you like. Also having your library in dropbox is life saving.
I use Suitcase Fusion 5. It's great because if a file is opened and a required font is de-activated, it will automagically activate it.
We were forced to use it in D-school, and I personally thought it was a waste of time. However, now that my collection is massive, I'm glad to have acquired the habit.
Haven't found anything much better than Font Manager [linux]
It does the job.

I tried just about every font management software for mac out there, but kept coming back to Font Book for its no fluff features. But if you ask me which other software is next best to Font Book then my answer would be : http://www.t.bohemiancoding.com/fonts/ Which is basically stripped down version of Fontcase.
I can recommend Font Explorer X, it does everything you'd expect from a font manager and it automatically activates fonts used in a PS file for example.
I have the same problem. The Font Book doesn't really fit my needs.
