Basecamp personal - just $25 per project (basecamp.com)

Basecamp Personal is a really good start (thanks for the mobile app finally!) but half-baked in its current state and there haven't been any improvements made recently.
The biggest issue lies around categorizing/tagging. There's no way to do this with notes at all so for example, my Work Notes and Personal Notes are mashed together.
Making "Projects" for these would be a viable option but that's not possible, and making me pay $25 per project is asinine when I can just do this in Evernote just as easily.
My workflow that I usually do is to make a Notebook in Evernote or Thinkery or Springpad or whatever I'm using and just stick everything in there, notes, todos, web clips, bookmarks, etc.
I want to like it, I love 37Signals and everything they stand for, but there's no way I can adopt or recommend it in its current state and with the current pricing model.
This would be so much better if it was available for everyone.
I personally think they can get more new clients who'd like to try this, than existing clients who'd like to have a second Basecamp account. But that's just how I see it.
Probably true, so this is probably a trial. I could see this becoming more widely available in the future.
They say they're going to open it up in a few months in the FAQ. Definitely agree it could and would serve a wide audience.
EDIT: Just saw the comment below saying this is an old product. I stand corrected.
Really expensive.
My tip, register for trial period and it allows to buy Basecamp Personal. Not sure what happens when trial is over. Basecamp Personal should be still available. Hopefully.
We plan to open Basecamp Personal up to the wider public in a few months.
it's been over a year at this point, no?
O_O
I thought this was new! As of right now, it looks like it is still only offered to people with existing Basecamp accounts, which is very disappointing.
It looks like the only use case for this at the moment is for people who have work accounts that want to use it at home and keep it separate.
Not for people who want to try it out at home yet I guess.
lol! joke's on us?
