Best online food ordering experience?

over 7 years ago from , Developer / Designer

We are starting work on a pizza ordering system and trying to find the best online ordering models, pizza or otherwise. Anybody got a favorite? I'll tell you who stinks at it: papajohns.com. Pizza Hut is pretty good...

This is my first post after a lot of lurking. Feels good.

I freaking love ordering from Spoon Rocket (https://www.spoonrocket.com/). Their menu options are very limited, so they get away with what may be the simplest ordering experience in the world.

Pretty excited about Spoonrocket once timezones line up and I can see more. It looks spectacular. Thanks!

Yeah, not sure if it counts as 'online' since it's phone only, but I've always had great experiences with postmates.

There's something about removing all the filters and simplifying for phone that isn't replicated in any online based system. Another case of simplicity + great customer service that wins.

Yes, postmates is a great example for us. Lots of mobile users, not the best bandwidth and simplicity / clarity is going to be a real issue. The other issue is not many true addresses but that is a problem for that...Thanks!

Recently logicspice has launched food ordering system which works for small businesses and medium businesses as well. I think so that it will work for you as well : https://fos.logicspice.com/

Dominos is fantastic. Or rather, they would be fantastic if the final step in their ordering process didn't throw an error every single time for Chrome, forcing you to re-order from scratch from another browser.

To be honest, most of them aren't that great. The best I've seen is GrubHub, and I've heard Seamless is good, but very few of these are truly great.

I ordered from Zifty in Atlanta quite often. Great service - awful design and user experience. Luckily their phone reps made up for any shortcomings of the system.

I'd recommend focusing on making sure the fringe cases are very well addressed. Like, for instance, people with food allergies. So often, the menu is less than helpful for those who need the most information.
