We now have self-given degrees in 'videography'! (New found respect for video editors, I salute you).
What do you think? (I think we went a little mad with all the video.)
Love all the white space and simplicity but why no responsiveness?
We ran out of time :D
But we’ll iterate it.
:O Desktop-first approach ? Booooo Matthew, booooo. :p
desktop-first makes sense when the majority your audience is viewing on a desktop.
Looking slick guys, big fan of the video
Thanks Felix!
I love the subtle autoplay video when you scroll to it!
I love it – so simple.
Site itself isn't that exciting, doesn't need to be, the work is solid. Big fan of Red Pen (design, build, copy, tone etc).
'works' is a little redundant in the nav though.
That's a good point. Feedback received. Thanks Paul!
Love the use of Alright Sans and Merrriweather. Also, the video playing based on scroll positioning is a really nice.
Looks great and really highlights the work. On a semantics level I'm not a huge fan of the copywriting.
The two lines juxtaposed make me feel a bit uncomfortable. I cannot quite identify how or why I find this problematic but here are a few things: the sentences themselves feel incomplete, I'm left a bit frustrated. The second line is also much longer, which makes it harder to move from the first to the second. Although longer, it doesn't offer me any more clarity.
Just my initial thoughts. I do love the way the work is presented, and I do love the work itself—I use RedPen frequently.
Are you referring to the titles on the homepage in the coloured blocks; or the case studies?
Appreciate your honest feedback regardless, Cole!
The actual copy front and center on the home page.
Also, I mean nothing personal by it. It could totally be an isolated problem I'm having and in that case I wouldn't recommend changing it!
All the videos seem to play once they get right in the middle of the screen, but the very bottom video has a hard time playing because it's right below that.
Do you have that same problem?
Mm. Not for me, but we’ve been testing on 13” and 15” screens. How big is your screen?
I am on a 27" Thunderbolt display and if you go to the VERY bottom and scroll down past the page to where it's about to spring back up it plays, but I went to the bottom naturally the video above the last one plays.
When I have a download notification alert at the bottom it makes my screen vertically smaller and lets the bottom video play. Probably needs 50px more room down below.
One of the best i've seen! Brilliant to have such a good write up for each case study.
I like this. I think the video is great and gives each project life and context. The site is nice and simple - puts all the focus on the content. The only (tiny) suggestion I can come up with is to check the combination of using the M+K logo for a site with the pistachio / pistachio made domain. Maybe focus on one or the other.
Hiiii there,
I like your t-shirt ;-) Great work guys, looks very clean and simple and the case studies tell an interesting story (what I was expecting from your two).
Looking forward to seeing more in the future :-)
Thanks Adham!
I have to say, the case studies are amazing, I just wanted to read more! I love how you explain your process in detail, and how that affects the design. And the overall tone is just perfect. Nice work guys!
The whole “Matt & Katie” thing is really cool. You could find a better domain name, as the pistachio made thing doesn't really feel right to me.
I got typogasm seeing the site. So good use of Merriweather. Love it!!
