Give this man his own color!!!!
Woah, this is neat!
Dude, you got 4110 karma in 1 month?
wow, didn't realize i trolled that hard.
King of the mountain, congratz
I showed up in the "See 20 more" section.
Woop woop!
Me too. Made me proud.
Edit: Ooo. There's top users for comments, too. Let's see, I'm number... 10. Yay!
I am literally the last one in the "Show 20 more" section, haha!
Looks like I'm half the troll you are :]
Still top 10 though. dunno whether to "hurrah" or just stop posting!
This should go into the sticky in DN Things! Fantastic work, I was just thinking about DN'ers location in the other post, but the data here is solid!
Awesome stuff, it would be super sweet to see where everyone is from with a cool little infographic-y map, good idea!
It could be cool indeed, but unfortunately I don't have this data :(
I could make it based on traffic I got today from DN, but obviously it'll be not accurate enough.
Would need to be constantly updated. This isn't real-time, or even relatively real-time data is it?
Making this real-time is very costy because you need to sweep all the dn data from the start. But maybe daily/hourly update is more realistic
Looks awesome. Great work, I think I've spotted a glitch though.
Edit:
Thanks, we'll fix it later today! :)
Update: Fixed.
Looks good!
Some things:
Does upvotes count comments?
Would the API give you better/easier support for these statistics?
Does this update automatically?
1: Sorry, I worded this completely wrong. I meant to ask if upvotes on comments counted toward upvotes, as opposed to the upvotes statistic only counting upvotes on top-level threads.
2: Posting in the Feature Request thread asking for the things you need added would be a good idea. We all want the API to be able to provide the information we all need--you've provided an excellent case for more data on the API (endpoints?).
3: Cool. What language did you write it in?
In response to your third question: import.io.
It's static html with content generated from import, then?
Just curious... how often will this be updated? Weekly? Monthly?
The DN API doesn't provide this data so I gather it semi-automatically and it's a lot of work. But I get really good feedback about it, so I think I'll update it once in a couple of month (I believe I'll post it here if there'll be an update).
I feel like this should probably be a clear sign to those working on DN that a good API is in order!
Plans on a new update?
Do you have anything specific that you want to do with these stats?
I really liked the .item__bar--long
tweek :) Great Job!
