    This is a really great contribution. I've started to migrate away from platform specific UI elements to custom experiences, but I'm definitely going to keep this one handy.

      As a developer-turned-designer, I'm glad someone pointed that out. :)

      My goal is to make this the pseudo-official UI template for Android, much like what Teehan + Lax did for iOS, but with a different approach by building it out iteratively in the open.

      I thought it aligns with Android's open philosophy pretty well. (Or I got tired of not shipping and decided to fuck it. Either way, the reaction has been tremendously encouraging!)

        +1 to iterative and collaborative. I wish git aligned a bit more naturally with visual assets, but I think this approach is great.
