A new tool for designing mobile interactions

over 6 years ago from , Senior Designer at Google

We're hard at work on a completely new tool for designing and prototyping mobile native interactions. Our focus is on staying close to the designer's intent, rather than overcoming interaction design's engineering obstacles.

It'd be interesting to know what kinds of continuous animations and transitions DN folks struggle to express and refine.

I find a lot of value in examples and they save a lot of time too. Many times the transition I want to convey is simple but as part of specc'ing I don't want to leave stuff to the imagination. A tool that allows for easy customization of common animations would already be amazing.

Sounds good. I've tried several tools but most of them have quite the learning curve. I'm looking forward to seeing how you're going to tackle this.

Yeah – one interesting thing is how simple many interactions are to describe in a sentence ("as I drag this object down the screen, scale and rotate that object"), but how complex they are to express programmatically. That's really the gap we're trying to close.
