Facebook is sharing a ton of cool stuff for iOS lately. The biggest news here is Pop, an animation engine which (I assume) is mostly the brainchild of Kimon, the engineer behind Push Pop Press. This will make doing advanced animations a lot easier on iOS.
Another cool thing to note is that they are "proposing" different inputs for spring animations that make more sense. From a scientific perspective, springs take friction, tension velocity (RK4) or stifness, damping, velocity (DHO). They somehow combine them into two that make more sense to designers: speed and bouncyness. I think that is pretty awesome, especially if we can sync/support them between different tools.
I'm blown away by what Facebook has been doing with the technology they developed for Paper. The amount of sheer talent and ingenuity they have behind this stuff is unprecedented, and we're all benefiting from it.
BTW, who here is using Origami? Facebook plans on integrating Pop with Origami. Wow.

Still watching the talk but so far, it looks amazing. One thing I've noticed is that a lot of these new mobile apps are taking advantage of gestures such as Secret, Mailbox, Paper etc.. but their visualization of the gestures are terrible. I wrote an OSS project to help improve visualization of multiple fingers in gesture based interfaces for iOS.
But where's Mike Matas? :(
