Which version control (for designers) do you use?

almost 9 years ago from , Designer @ Perk.com

Hi,

Our design team is pretty new and I was wondering which version controls that manage assets do you guys use? There are a bunch of these and I want to know the differences and what works better for our team (We are 2 designers).

Thanks! :)

I've used both LayerVault and Pixelapse before. Both have their strengths, but LayerVault is the winner from my perspective.

LayerVault is really ahead of the curve with improvements and is consistently releasing new features, like Delivery (Presentations), PSD LayerComp support, Sketch Support (including previewing artboards and pages), and now the automatic asset creation they released today. It is the more pricey solution, despite that, my vote goes with LayerVault.

We use LayerVault. We are a team of 15 or so and 2 designers. We have been using it for a while and love how quick they are moving. They are consistently adding features that matter.

It's a little expensive, but with all the new features it's totally worth it. Their support is also the best I have ever experienced.
