Hey there. I'm a fellow designer that is trying to do something really different with time tracking – a task I've dreaded for my whole work life. The basic concept is that you schedule and log hours, at the same time.

I would truly appreciate some quality designer feedback.

This looks really fantastic Mathias. Congrats on what looks like a highly polished service.

Thank you so much, Allan! Really. Hopefully the video shows most of the concept, even though I tried to keep it more cool and teasy (is that a word?), instead of a more traditional voiceover product demo.

Hey Mathias, been using your app for the last few months and I've enjoyed it thus far. Would love an option to set a block or range of time as "paid", so that I could filter by paid and unpaid. Other than that, it works great!

Thank you for the comment, Greg! And thanks a bunch for being a Timely user! My favorite kind of people – hehe.

I can almost say for certain you'll get your wish granted :) Stay tuned.

The product looks and feels fantastic and I'm digging the concept behind Timely. Yet, I'd love to see the functionality to create an invoice based off of the logged hours.

If Timely had this feature and a PayPal/Stripe integration, I'd switch from Harvest to Timely right away.

    Good job on this, Mathias!

Woohoo – so happy to hear that!

And yes, I do want to look down that road eventually. It's just really important for me to focus on making time tracking as good as it can possibly be first.

It does make sense to focus on one thing, make it right and only then move on to next features to keep the quality high eventually. I'm looking forward to it anyways. :)

Timely is fucking awesome. Been using it since December and Mathias always responds to my emails promptly when there' s any sort of issues. I was originally going to go with Harvest, but they were still using iOS 6 gui and that's is the sole reason I went to Timely, which has beautiful design.

    Cheers Mathias,

    Keep up the great work!

Wow, very slick. I use a mix of Google Calendar and Freshbooks to do pretty much this, so will take it for a spin.

Curious to see how the reports look for invoicing purposes.

Good work! Does it support invoice generation?

Thanks, David! It does not support invoicing at the moment. It might in the future, but right now it's just really important for me that we perfect time tracking to the best it can be first, before we move on to other things.

This app is great. I've been using it since December for my contracts and it's very easy to use/manage projects. It's the best time tracking system that I've used.

This looks and works fantastically! I think this approach is honestly the first to actually help me to stay on top of time tracking.

I don't see anything from a design perspective that I would adjust, only a feature request: have you given thought to letting users add more users in an à la carte fashion?

Thanks for this beautiful and highly-useable product!

Joshua, that means a lot to read – truly. Thanks you! There are so many time tracking apps, and I really do think this is something different, so hearing stuff like this is amazing.

I have given the à la carte users option some thought, and I do find it interesting. Want to take a deeper look eventually, especially after seeing some feedback and which plans people end up with.

Not a user of time tracking apps, but just wanted to say that it's great to see a founder reaching out here and responding well to feedback and requests. Great job Mathias, best of luck!

This is such a cool service. I just signed up and added a client project and I can probably see myself using this in the future. But only if it had invoicing capabilities. I'm using Harvest for $10/month and it just works. Hopefully Timely will get invoicing soon, because I'd like to use it!

I'm glad you took the time to try it out, and please do check in on Timely from time to time. Who knows, suddenly invoicing might have been added!

While it looks great, I've always been confused as to how expensive time tracking apps/websites are. About $10/user seems like a pretty excessive profit margin. Not questioning what it's "worth" as the users will determine that; just curious how much it would really cost to run / maintain this project.

To be completely honest, I don't know what the cost will be yet. Thus far I've bootstrapped everything, and pay some freelance backend developers to help. It hasn't been cheap, and Timely isn't profitable yet, especially with all the further developing we're doing. Anyhow, I don't know what kind of profit margins we will possibly end up with. It's an interesting discussion though.
