Which are your favorite design-related podcasts?
On the Grid - onthegrid.co
Thanks for the mention!
Oh, definitely 99% Invisible. Great content, impeccably presented. http://99percentinvisible.org
Thank you for mentioning Iterate.
Some others I listen to regularly:
Debug — Not entirely design-related, but awesome and more developer skewed (still with plenty of UI discussion). http://www.imore.com/category/debug
The Critical Path — Far more business related, but if you want to get some perspective on where the mobile industry is going, you should spend as much time as possible listening to Horace Dediu. http://5by5.tv/criticalpath
The Industry is also good.
I've listened to most of these, and personally I think On the Grid is the most insightful, and well produced.
- 1 to On the Grid — http://onthegrid.co. Really thoughtful, interesting discussions on a broad range of design topics.
Check out our show, On the Grid: http://onthegrid.co
Lately, I've been enjoying:
- Happy Monday Podcast, http://happymondaypodcast.com
- Download This Show, http://www.abc.net.au/radionational/programs/downloadthisshow/
- The Stack, http://monocle.com/radio/shows/the-stack/
- Greyscale Gorilla Podcast, http://greyscalegorilla.com/blog/category/podcasts/
- This Developer's Life, http://thisdeveloperslife.com
Not all necessarily "designers on design", but I think they'd all be appealing to DNers.
Guys, what do you do while listening to podcasts?
I usually open up Photoshop and mess around, or just browse around on the internet.
Anything that doesn't involve writing, reading or editing words. I find it easy to jam on designs, but near impossible to write articles or code... Which makes a lot of sense.
Doodling in Photoshop or on paper
Same thing as lots of people, Photoshop or wireframing, I can't code while listening to a podcast
My favs are: The East Wing, Shoptalk, and the Industry.
Design Matters has always been one of my favourites: https://itunes.apple.com/au/podcast/design-matters-debbie-millman/id328074695
And Typeradio is a great type/design podcast that's been going for a while. http://www.typeradio.org/
Any suggestions for short podcasts? There's this growing trend of hour+ podcasts; way too long!
Already mentioned above but http://99percentinvisible.org Amazing show
The New Disruptors is my favorite new podcast: http://www.muleradio.net/newdisruptors/
- Back to Work (my fav)
- Shoptalk Show
- ATX Webshow
- The East Wing
- The Industry
- The Vergecast
- Non-breaking space
- The big web show
