I bought the Master Class package yesterday. Haven't had time to watch it yet - but I'm such a fan of his work.
I went through about 1hr of the master collection, and it's quite nicely done - walking through the process, discussing tools & techniques with personal touch - doesn't seem to be much rehearsed, more like sitting with Sean for ad-hoc "how-to" session.
So do you think it's worth the price ?
If you're into hand-lettering, I think the intermediate class is worth $79 - you get an overview, watch him draw sans/serif/script alphabets with comments on why he does it certain way, and then how to convert it to vectors (didn't watch that part yet).
Anybody have recommendations for books on lettering (instructive or not)?
I'm pretty versed in typography, and have a couple Speedball calligraphy books, but nothing else on lettering specifically.
I watched the sample video and it was really good. Looking to purchase this myself.
I've been waiting for this. Bought it, haven't watched yet.
I also subscribed to and recommend I Still Love Calligraphy a video course in calligraphy.
Strongly thinking about purchasing. Haven't heard a single negative thing about it yet. Anyone?
Check the two free videos, you'll get idea of how it's done. Don't expect typography class teaching how to do many different typefaces - it's not claiming nor trying to be that.
'Preciate that, playboy.
