I've never heard of Bebo before this, but I have to admit that the video is incredible hilarious. Anyone have some more insight about this?

It was huge in Ireland and the UK (and probably more countries) back around 2005/2006/2007. Majority of teenagers were on it. It was the biggest social network here by far at the time. Like myspace it was really customisable and just good fun.

Then Facebook came along and won people over, Bebo was bought for huge money ($850m) by AOL and very shortly afterwards it was worth practically nothing. The founder bought it back for $1 million.

Bebo was a social networking site that had a very large user base before facebook came in and took over. AOL then bought it off of Michael Birch (the dude in the video) for 850 million dollars, he then bought it back for 1 millon dollars.

I'm not entirely sure what his new plans for Bebo are as the video is slightly confusing, I suspect that he's still unsure.

Nonetheless, I personally think this might actually be a success gauging by all of the other start-ups he's been behind.
