This is sick— anyone know how it works?
They wrap every character in a
particleelement, every group of characters into a
wordelement, and then every word is in its normal semantic element. Looks like they might use JS with it to animate, but for some reason I can't select the relevant file with my debugger. I saw that there was a mention of "transform" in the console, so that makes me think it might be JS using CSS.
Here's that JS file in case anyone wants to look at it. http://fontbomb.ilex.ca/js/main.js
And yeah, there are CSS transforms being applied to handle the rotation and translation of each letter. The word element is just applied so that the browser never tries to apply word-wrapping to it.
I bet the developer had a blast naming those JS methods.
