Wow, this is really cool. Is there any plan to add user submitted icons to the library?
No firm plan, but we've been discussing this a lot over the last couple days. I'm not sure we'll have user submitted icons, but we'll likely have a solution for folks, other than us, to make icons like Iconic.
I would call them Adaptive rather than Responsive, when you're talking about different sizes for different screens.
it changes the file for different sizes, yet it still scales up and down as responsive would work... responsadaptive?
Thanks for the note! We've been struggling with communicating the unique sizing from day 1. "Adaptive" is an interesting approach to solving the language problem. I might sneak that into an update to the tour today.
This is actually really impressive. Might use it for one of my client projects I'm currently working on.
it isn't my bag of coffee when it comes to the visual style for the icons, but i'm interested in what this evolves into. Perhaps some sort of "format" that other designers can put their icons into.
This is really impressive. I'm interested in the Iconic AI (Illustrator Automation) too.
Thanks Jamie! I'm one of the fellows who's working on Iconic. Feel free to ask any questions you may have!
Hey. So, is this automation tool specific to using Iconic with AI or is something that helps with SVG production in general, as well?
Our goal is to provide a nice set of ExtendScript tools which can work for any SVG production. The magic of Iconic takes a lot more work that likely wouldn't work for most workflows. But yeah, some nice ExtendScript tools will be available once things settle down a bit. ;)
