Looking for Gestures to confirm/cancel actions in iOS?

over 5 years ago from , UX/UI Designer

Hey guys,

This is my first post btw. So Hi everyone! I have to say this is a really great community and I'm glad I'm part of it …

So here's my question: I'm looking for iOS apps that use gestures instead of buttons for confirming actions like ok, cancel, yes, no. You get the idea ;)

For e.g. like Mailbox where you swipe right mark emails as read. I'm looking especially for gestures outside of the classic lists.

So if anyone has some cool examples, just post it.

My Friend and I are building 8 full screen gesture controls for iOS that we're going to open source in a about week. I can give you a sneak peak at what we are building if you're interested.

On Tinder you can swipe to "Like" or "Unlike" another user (there are button to perform those actions, but it seems that a lot of users are using the gestures).

Reeder, Instapaper, Tweetbot, Twitterific; all use side-swiping on tableview cells for certain actions. With some you can customise the actions in the settings.

Thanks. but I'm looking for gestures outside of classic tableview swipe left and right. Something more fancy.

Have a look at Clear or Rechner :)

Thanks, Dominic. I already looked at Clear and it's almost the same as Mailbox (or vice versa). At least in terms of confirmation gestures.

But Rechner is very gesture heavy, I'll look into that.
