Ask DN: Do you (and your users) prefer bolder labels, or bolder input text?

I realize it is all circumstantial, but I'm wondering if one provides better usability.

On one hand, when scanning through a form, bold labels will catch a user's attention. On the other hand, what is important? The content that the user is creating. On the third hand, why not just use placeholder values and ditch separate labels altogether?

Input text. I like having a light placeholder that isn't too intrusive, and then having the input be just about #000 (on light sites, of course).

It just feels better, giving more attention to what the user has to say than what the site has got to say.
