Only halfway through but = awesome
After watching Pasquale D'Silva's talk, I thought you were going to nitpick the linear timing.
Hahah I see what you did there ;)
Build was absolutely fantastic. I feel like a fundamentally different person because of it. The design talking, the heavy drinking and the activities like the Bushmills distillery tour and the blacksmithing were brilliant. This was the final talk on the Thursday.
This was so interesting and well thought out. Thank you for sharing!
This—a thousand times, this.
What did you enjoy?
This was so great in so many ways. Easily one of the best appraisals of the current design and state of the web I've read in a long time.
I actually skipped reading it earlier this morning when I saw it because of it's length. But trust me, it's worth the time to read.
Lovely writing with supporting graphics and videos that really puts together the meat of digital design today. Check out Frank's other talks. They're all well worth the read. I just read this one and it was just as fantastic.
"The builders of interfaces in a technology-laden, abstracted, and mediated world hold sway, much like mapmakers do."
Reminds me of Mike Monteiro’s reference to being "gatekeepers" in How Designer’s Destroyed the World.
An excellent presentation. And presentation style. Highly absorbable.
