It is a good practise in designing in designing procedure that provide clear instructions to designers as well as developers on how to get along with specific principles, such as intuitiveness, learnability, efficiency, and consistency. A design guideline sits between a principle in design and a standard or rule for implementing it. A design guideline is thus intended to help designers understand how to implement a principle, without restricting their creativity in design.
