Sketch: How to exclude symbols from shared library

11 days ago from , Visual Designer at Czech Television

Is there any native option or workaround in Sketch for excluding certain symbols from appearing in shared library dropdown? E. g. I wouldn't want to share outdated or deprecated components but would want to keep them in the source file for future reference...

As far as I know there are two option:

    1. Desymbolize them. That way they aren't shared, but you will break existing links.
    2. In the past I've simply added '_deprecated' in front of the symbol names and added a red dot on each symbol. That way people could see there was a new symbol.
