You are passionate about designing compelling digital experiences from concept to delivery and enjoy the fast-paced innovative culture of a startup. You are an expert in user-centred design, and excel at conducting user research and translating it into intuitive design. You are a professional who thrives creatively at the intersection of user needs, business goals and product vision. You may or may not have previous experience in designing data analytics platforms, but you are excited about unlocking the power of data driven decision making for progressive companies, candidates and causes.
About the role:
You will be involved in every aspect of the product development life cycle, from initial user research, to designing wireframes and user interfaces, to conducting usability testing and ongoing user research on our interactive data analytics platform. You will grow your skills working closely with the engineering and product teams, while collaborating with cross-functional groups including client success, internal users of the analyst platform and data science teams.
Work on end-to-end design including user research, workflow design, visual design and usability testing
Understand business goals, technical specifications and constraints, and coordinate with developers to match architecture to design requirements
Participate in cross functional organizational development activities that support shared learning, and excellence in both culture and results
Specifically, this roll will:
Lead design of digital interfaces, especially those which are highly interactive
Proactively seek to understand business goals, technical specs and constraints
Conduct, moderate, observe and report on all forms of user research and testing
Develop user journeys and flows using storyboards, sitemaps, and use cases
Create rapid prototype mock-ups, concepts, original design ideas
Present, consult, test and iterate based on internal and external feedback
Deliver design that meets user needs and functional specs
Establish and translate visual design into wireframes, mocks, click through prototypes and functional specifications
Qualifications & Qualities:
Successful candidates will have all of the following:
A strong portfolio demonstrating a range of relevant work
3+ years designing engaging solutions based on a deep understanding of customer and business needs, and user testing
Excellent facilitation and communication skills
Excellent understanding of usability best practices and guidelines
Ability to think critically and devise solutions with business and user goals in mind
Passion to advocate user experience, defend creative ideas and work when required
Proficiency with prototyping and user testing tools
Proficiency with creation of visual aids such as wireframes, storyboards, prototypes, user flows, process flows and site maps, to plan and present user interface design
Comfortable in the early stage of organizational development building new products
Strong interpersonal skills, work collaboratively with other team members
Ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines and detail oriented
